Are you junior tennis player or do you have a junior tennis player that performs much better when they play older players in the men’s tournaments vs. players at their own age in the junior ranks?

You’re going to learn why this particular tennis player struggles with playing at his own level but is a far superior player when he goes and he plays older more experienced players.

Here’s the question Dr. Patrick Cohn answers this week:

WILLIAM ASKS:

“I’m a junior tennis player. I play better in men’s tournaments than I do in juniors because I feel no pressure to win or pressure to perform my best. In the junior tournaments I tend to play really tight. I don’t want to lose because they are the same age and have no advantage over me. So therefore I feel pressure to win and perform my best. This makes me play tight, go for dumb shots, and get really frustrated. Anything I can do to combat this and play how I do in the men’s tournaments like I do in the junior tournaments?”
